Institut Curie

Institut Curie, France’s leading anti-cancer centre, has both an internationally reputed research centre and a cutting-edge hospital that treats all cancers, including the rarest forms. The institute, which was founded in 1909, counts 3,700 researchers, doctors and carers at three sites working on its three missions: treatment, research and education.

THE MC21 CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED IN 2017 COMPRISES 3 PROJECTS, INCLUDING BIG DATA AND SINGLE CELL.

From 2018 to 2022 we supported the BIG DATA project – Today, the tool enables data searches to be performed on over 20 million documents from the treatment of over 560,000 patients of the institute over the past 20 years. Every day, another 3,000 new documents are added.

Since 2022, we have been supporting the SINGLE CELL project - Doctors today have only an overall analysis of tumour cells on which to base their therapeutic decisions. Some thus prove to be resistant or develop resistance to the treatment proposed. Single cell analysis enables better prediction of the tumour’s response to a given treatment and monitoring of the tumour.

Formation cancer au travail

“How can I help?”
“Stimulating the humanity that lies within each of us.”
“Just coming back to the office is a victory in itself.”
“The patient is a challenger.”
“Remember that cancer is cured in 66% of cases.”

These are among the phrases heard and the situations discussed by Bessé’s managers during the “Working with cancer” training course organised for the first time in a company on 7 November 2023 by Gustave Roussy, Europe’s leading cancer centre.

This half-day of testimonials and shared knowledge and experience enabled our directors and managers to understand the impact of cancer in the workplace, to understand that a patient can survive, to repudiate a certain number of misconceptions, to hear about the hope related to treatments, and to be better prepared to support any employees that might be affected by the illness.

Rallye du cœur

This association has been organising car rallies since 2017 to support children’s cancer charities.

Since the first edition, over 1,615 teams have participated in events in Paris, Lyon, Nantes and Luxembourg, supported by over 300 partners and sponsors, collecting over €1,848,650 for research into children’s cancer.

Since 2021, Bessé’s teams have been supporting Rallye du Cœur.

Rallye du coeur 2023

Our employees describe it best...

A day at a Rallye du Coeur event means spending time in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, with a determined, united team that wants to bring smiles and happiness to sick children. It is a way of working together for a cause that affects us all to some degree.

Anaïs Chollet

Getting sick children to forget about their everyday challenges for just one day and seeing them have fun and laughing is a minor victory against the illness. I am delighted to have been able to make a modest contribution to these precious moments.

Odysséa

It all began with three women and a friendship. Odysséa was born from friends, an idea and the shared determination of three generous women.

In 2002, Frédérique Quentin and Frédérique Jules decided to create a charity sporting event to support breast cancer charities: this was the beginning of the Odysséa adventure.

Bessé teams have been taking part in the race since 2019 in Nantes and Paris!

Odyssea

Our employees describe it best...

I run regularly, so taking part in Odysséa was a good opportunity to run for a good cause! We are twice as proud of ourselves when we cross the finish line! It’s great to be able to share this adventure with colleagues.

Pauline Taillebois

I was delighted to take part in the Odysséa race. I would like to encourage all Bessé employees, the sporty and the not-so-sporty, to take part in the next edition. Everyone can run or walk, particularly to support the fight against breast cancer!
